We love a good party but party décor can sometimes get a little pricey! That’s why do-it-yourself décor is so great; it’s a fun little project to do and you usually end up saving money. One of our staff members recently hosted an anniversary party and came up with a neat idea for DIY floral centrepieces. The result was stunning and we couldn’t wait to share it with our blog readers! Read on for more pictures and to find out how to make your own.
What you’ll need:
Flower Vases/Glasses (we got ours at the dollar store!)
Rhinestone Mesh (another easy dollar store find)
How to make it:
Take your fresh flowers and cut the steams off to your desired length (depending on how tall your vase is). Measure out a strip of the mesh that will go around the vase then cut it to that length. Wrap it into a circle and staple the two ends together. Put mesh in each vase and then fill them with room temperature water (and plant food if desired). Add flowers to the vase and voila: Your very own centrepiece! You can also add leaves/sticks/other decorations in with the flowers if you want to.
Quick Tip: Once your flower steams are cut to your desired length, stick them in hot water for about 30 seconds and THEN put them into your decorated vase that is filled with regular room temperature water. This will help the flowers stay fresh for a longer period of time!
What do you think of these centrepieces?
We love them and can’t wait to share more great DIY’s with you!
