The beautiful weather is finally starting to arrive which means time for some good ol’ spring cleaning! There is no better feeling then a clean home that is rid of the old and ready for the new. You have to make room for all those new Red Coral pieces after all right? Cleaning and purging your home will leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized for the Spring and Summer seasons. Here are a few of our favourite tips and tricks for Spring cleaning your home.
You don’t want to have to clean around things you no longer use or want. Donate or sell anything that you haven’t used in over a year or that no longer brings you joy. There are websites and stores that will even pay you for your gently used clothing; such as Trend Trunk and Kind Exchange in Toronto.
When you are cleaning always start from the top and work your way down in order to avoid dirtying what you just cleaned. Remember to go through every layer (floor, furniture, what is on top of each piece of furniture) and you will have one very clean home.
Areas like your kitchen cabinets, the walls in your home and your light fixtures should not be forgotten! Now that you are taking the time to deep clean your home make sure you give everything at least a little wipe/wash. The most unexpected places can harbour bacteria and dirt.
No one wants to spend their whole day cleaning…get multiple tasks done at once! Put a load of laundry on while you wash the floors or start the dishwasher while you dust around your house.
When it comes to cleaning and home organization, we LOVE Pinterest! There are so many helpful tricks and hacks that you can learn through Pinterest. Don’t forget to follow Red Coral here to see what we are currently pinning!
Have a few things laying around your home that have been waiting forever to be fixed? Now is the time to get them out of the way. Take care of anything that needs a little TLC and if you can’t do it yourself try asking a friend!
You work hard and spring cleaning is definitely no picnic. Reward yourself with a little “me time” throughout the process so that you don’t get overwhelmed. Do a face mask, read a good book, take a nice warm bath, anything that your heart desires!
