5 Easy Tips for Dealing with Stress

June 3, 2016Family FirstNo commentsGenevieve

Life gets a little crazy sometimes and it’s so easy to feel overwhelmed. It’s hard not to work yourself up and get even more anxious over stressful situations but it’s so important to stay calm! Stress is bad for both your body AND mind…it has been proven that it can make you get sick a lot easier and quicker. We know you have many daily worries (like your kids, your work, getting your house clean etc…) so we’re here to help with 5 easy tips for de-stressing!

1.Do something that feels good for your body! Join a yoga class, go for a walk with a loved one, bike around your city, etc. Exercise relaxes the mind and puts you in a better mood automatically. It is actually known to be one of the main factors that helps anxiety and depression.

2. Have a little me time…read a book and take a nice warm bath. Do something that you don’t get to do on most days but you always want to try and find time for.

3. Check in with yourself; Is what your stressing about really worth it? Can you change it? You can even write down your thoughts if it helps you to better process them and get to the root of your stress.

4. Surround yourself with friends and family. They can talk you through whatever you are feeling stressed about and you will be happy to be surrounded by such great company! Socializing perks us up and can make us forget about other issues in our lives.

5. Maintain a clean and organized environment as much as possible. The worst feeling is when you’ve had a long and stressful day and you come home to a messy place. A good rule of thumb is to always try and keep your space in a state that would make it easily ready in 10 minutes for guests to arrive to.

What do YOU do to de-stress?
