We all tend to hang on to items we no longer wear or enjoy as much anymore and it certainly isn’t easy to purge your closet. We convince ourselves that we should keep items that are not even of any use to us. Minimalism is definitely becoming a trend now and it is something we should all be thinking about. When you live with a little less, you are more likely to have pieces you TRULY love. Here are a few questions to ask yourself the next time you are going through your closet!
Have I worn it in the last year?
Does this truly fit me properly? Is it flattering on me?
Is this item defective in any way? Does it have rips, stains, etc.?
Does this item still bring me joy?
Would I buy it again today if I saw it hanging in the store?
Does this piece work with my current lifestyle/job/etc.? It is still “in style”/something I would feel good about wearing currently?
It feels great to get rid of what you no longer use and to make room for some new pieces!
We do it at least once a year and think it is so important.
If you are getting rid of items we encourage you to donate them to a good cause!
